Helen Emerges Queen At ‘Ultimate Dance Diva’
Helen Dery, 21, popularly known as queen, was crowned Ultimate Ghana’s ‘Dance Diva’, when he danced its way past nine other young women to win the first edition of Queen Dance Africa-Ghana competition held last Saturday, the Round Pavilion Accra International Trade Fair Center.
Queen won a cash price of GH ¢ 3000 and Ghana will represent Africa at the event to be held in Nigeria next year. It is also a key role in monitoring and watching dance competitors for next year’s Queen show Ghana-Africa.
A past student of the Great Lamptey Mills Senior ‘School in Accra, Queen formed and managed Regina Stars quartet of dance for three years and won many inter-school dance competition in Accra Greater Region. She hopes to between the School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, Legon and later became a professional dancer.
The contest last Saturday, the ten finalists performed traditional songs and freestyle Dancehall area was thin before five: Becca, Nana Ama, Munir, Rita and Queen.
After another round of scintillating moves Highlife Queen emerged winner via text messages and information received from judges who were model / choreographer, Josh Ansah, musician / dancer, Akosua Agyapong and OBE TV hostess, Ama K. Abebrese.
Speaking to Showbiz after the contest queen expressed optimism that it will make Ghana proud to Africa next year’s event.
