Winter Foot Care Tips
Winter Foot Care Tips : We often ignore our feet and only work on the skin of our face and body. The adage about feet is so true it states “You can check ones’ cleanliness by looking at his feet”. This ignored part of our body too needs some TLC, what with the pressure we impose on them with high heels. Foot need extra care during winter since the humidity becomes low and as a result the skin becomes dry. Usually cracked skin on heels and feet is caused due to excessive dry skin. Walking bare feet and wearing shoes with open backs worsens the problem. We share some home tips or secrets to pamper your feet.
1) Add a few drops of lavender oil or olive oil to your bath water. Moisturise your face and body with a rich moisturising cream. Use home made packs containing Avocado, Papaya and banana once a week.
2) For dry cracked heels, moisturise the feet twice a day. Once after bath and then again before bedtime. Wear closed footwear. Also try paraffin wax treatment along with pedicure.
3) Before going to bed soak your feet in warm water for 20 minutes, with the help of a pumice stone or a heel scrubber, rub the heels gently inorder to remove the dead cells. After washing the feet, massage with cream, rubbing it into the skin. Then bandage the heels with a clean cloth. Wear cotton socks and go to sleep. Repeat this every night for one week. If there is any pain or bleeding from the cracks, consult a doctor.
4) Massaging the feet with oil is the best treat for tired feet, oil massage will not only release the strain but will also moisturise the skin. You can use Coconut oil which has cooling properties or mustard oil, this a warm oil ideal for winter.
